Description

“Transformed by a Tusk” features Dr. Narwhal, Eco Hero, Mother Earth and two members of an Inuit community in an Arctic tale. In this first adventure, the Narwhals call Eco Hero for help and this is the start of a very special mission! There is also room for the very important “Legend of the Narwhal.”

I enjoyed writing this after returning from my first Arctic expedition in Baffin Island.

SOME FEATURES INCLUDE:
Children discover the principles of sustainable development in a refreshing new way.
Beautiful illustrations in a nice large format to look at for hours.
A perfect fit for courses in sustainable development, environmental education, and world citizenship.
Thanks to a debriefing, thirteen questions and several assignments, this is also a “DO” book.
A search for 13 SDG’s (Sustainable Development Goals) is also included.
Audio books are also available in two languages.

This book was released in conjunction with the traveling exhibit: ”Narwhal: Revealing an Arctic Legend” from the Smithsonian Museum for Natural History. It also carries the stamp of approval from the Arctic Studies Center of the Smithsonian Museum for Natural Resources and was inspired by several expeditions to the High Canadian Arctic. The “Transformed by a Tusk” graphic novel is already available in two languages: English and Dutch. Two other translations are in process.
